FBS Enhancements

FBS Enhancements
role:
Interaction design, UI design

problem:
With the addition of brand new internet speeds being introduced I was challenged with how to how many relevant choices to the customer at a glance in a simple intuitive way. The existing UI only allowed the customer to view 4 internet options at one time. I needed to reduce the clutter and redundancy of information presented, designing a cohesive design showing only what the user needed to see to make a selection.

solving the problem
AT&T Business Console learn and support pages were almost nonexistent. Only a few FAQ’s were available for the user and there was no authenticated support content at all. The original design didn’t allow for any product specific information and wasn’t well suited for upgrade possibilities. Since upgrades to the MDM was of utmost importance for the business a product detail page needed to be included in the design.

challenges
-
Designing a long term solution that would allow for additional product and services to be added without having to redo the entire design.
-
Fail fast and move on - The first solution I designed could potentially have had some long term negative effects when looking at it holistically. It wasn’t the perfect solution for all user scenarios. So back to the drawing board and came up with a much simpler, more intuitive design for the user.

process:
I was the lead on this project. Working with the BA we determined that the top priorities to address in the redesign were price and speed. Furthermore, it was equally important to visually show both upload and download speeds. a redesign of the benefits section was important as well as moving it closer to the internet speed selection. We worked on different options for presenting the information to the customer. After feedback from the business unit the final design took shape. this project was done in a agile methodology with two week sprint cycles.

One Service
FBS enhancements was tested by business with an Axure interactive prototype and determined that we met our goal of simplicity and ease of information needed to make a decision. Currently it is under development.

this redesign project had a double purpose that we needed to account for. The redesign was a template that was not only being used for the new u-Verse internet speeds but was eventually going to be used for additional products.

My ATT App

My ATT App
process:
This app was designed to retrieve a forgotten username and password. The launch would start from the app, take the user into the Premier site, then back into the app. My team and I brainstormed ideas involving a real time user in different scenarios. What would work the most intuitively to retrieve their user name and or reset their password. In addition to the UI design I also had to sync up with the backend on the Premier site to allow for the additional links and functionality within the original site.
